RACING-JIB OJ1B-YA For the APHRODITE IOI, the jib used for regattas on Lake Constance inland sailing area is not suitable for winds below 3.5 beaufort, but has been designed for use from this wind strength and above. When trimming the sail profile, the fact that the wind on Lake Constance does not always remain constant within the jib area, but frequently pulsates and drops, means that the sail must not be allowed to become too flat. This is achieved by creating a fuller luff curve in the jib, which unlike the genoa then requires high running backstay tension in the centre. Like the mainsail, the jib comes in the classic horizontal cut, and is made of Polykote Dacron. The top batten is full length; the two other battens are short inserting battens. All batten pockets have a patent velcro fastening for locking and tensioning the battens. Like the genoa, stainless steel Wichard snap hooks have been fitted to the head and tack, in order to avoid opening the tack and halyard shackles. With the jib, we also differentiate between a jib for a OJ-1B-PRO headfoil, which has a greater sag, and a forestay with a OJ-1B jib hank. The clew is fitted with a board with 13 holes, which makes it possible to finely adjust the sheet lead with the clew shackle on the sail. Here, too, fittings come with two blue camber stripes, a tickler along the luff, including a tickler window for the lower tickler pair. Sail measurement, leech line with velcro adjustment and a sail bag (available as a roll bag on request) are of course included and are covered in the price. << back to the shop | 101 Genua OG3B-PE | 101 Mainsail OM1B-YA | 101 Spinnaker OS3B-SK |
