Match Race in Sopot

The idea
The idea is to create the first in Poland and one of the most advanced match racing centers in Europe through placing a stylish fleet of 5 Diamant 3000 yachts in the finest sea resort in Poland - the Sopot City, with its rich tradition as the famous Bad Zoppot 80 years ago.

Match Race Center

The Sopot Match Racing Center will be located near the longest (more than 500m) wooden pier in Europe - the Molo - which is a natural platform for spectators to watch the finest world match racing (the aim is to organise two or three Grade 1, Grade 2 events anually, including Swedish Match Tour in the future). In 2004 there will be 3 ISAF events organised (Grade 3 in July, Grade 2 in September, Grade 2 in October) and a few fleet and promotional events.

From 2005 the Center will move to a brand new marina that is going to be sticked to the Molo. The marina will be the Polish center of Baltic sailing. The fleet of five Dimant 3000 will be the most modern fleet of offshore yachts in Poland, as the Polish offshore sailing is starting to grow now.

The team

The team

The Center is organised by the Sopot City, Polish Yachting Assocation and the Yachting Foundation. The Foundation is represented by Przemek Tarnacki - skipper of MRM Match Race Team (40th on the ISAF list, 5th on the 2003 MR Europeans), double World Champion in Micro Tonner, second skipper (after Karol Jablonski) of the Polish AC Challenge POLSKA 1.

International exposure
The project is is regarded by the Polish Yachting Assocation as the biggest offshore initiative in Poland. All the sponsors and providers stress the atractivity of the place (during 3 months of summer holiday in Poland the average of 60.000 people visit Molo every day!). Among the supporters of the initiative are: sailors Karol Jablonski and Mateusz Kusznierewicz, President of the Sopot City and local politicians, Polish

Yachting Assocation and the ISAF.

The biggest of the Polish media representatives are partners of the Center - through cooperation with a renowned PR company.

The cooperation
We would like to propose the sponsoring company an offer of cooperation through our activities connected with the SOPOT MATCH RACING CENTER.

We offer
Promotion campaign for 5 years (2004-2009) of the sponsoring company (Official Supplier of the Sopot Match Racing Center) through:

• placing a logotype in all official publications concerning all activities that are made by Sopot Match Racing Center,
• placing a logotype on the mainsail,
• placing a logotype on an information board and a banner in the Center,
• placing a logotype on the Diamant 3000 boat on at least 1 exhibition anually among the 3 biggest in Poland (Wiatr i Woda - March in Warsaw, Polyacht - April in Gdansk, Boatshow - November in Lodz).

We expect
